The Alteri Project was founded in October 2019 by Laura and Elliott Fey, driven by a shared passion for supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners. Recognizing the vital role these individuals play in our community’s economic and social fabric, Laura and Elliott envisioned an organization dedicated to providing the resources and support needed to thrive. Joining them in this mission is Derek McCoy, our first board member.

Collectively, Laura, Elliott, and Derek bring over 50 years of experience supporting our community and championing wellness and equality. This deep-rooted commitment to positive change forms the foundation of The Alteri Project’s work. We believe that by fostering entrepreneurship and empowering small businesses, we can create a more equitable and prosperous future for all.

In May of this year, we proudly achieved 501(c)(3) status from the IRS, a significant milestone that allows us to further expand our reach and impact. This designation means that your generous donations to The Alteri Project are now tax-deductible, enabling you to support our mission while receiving a valuable tax benefit.
